We offer a number of programs for the younger members of your group.
13 & 14 year old Junior PADI Open Water Course
Our Junior Open Water Certification Program begins with pre-study of the PADI Open Water Diver eLearning program. The eLearning can be completed at home prior to the water training with us. The kids can take as much time as they need to complete the studies so they don't feel pressured to study while on vacation. They don't need to spend their valuable vacation time studying. We will give them access to the program when you register.
The eLearning will require 10 to 15 hours of study.
Then they will join us for three days of water training. The first day they will be introduced to the skills and equipment in a shallow water location. They will have the chance to practice all the skills needed for diving. Day two we will do two dives in one of the world renowned freshwater springs (cenotes) that the Yucatan is famous for. These will be shallow dives in which we can fine tune their skills and make sure they are ready to head out to the ocean dives. To finish up, on day three we will do two dives on the Caribbean reefs offshore from Tulum. They will get to experience the best of both worlds. It is possible for the kids to complete this program in conjunction with our standard Open Water Diver program for older kids and adults if their parents feel they are mature enough to join an older group. 10, 11 & 12 year old Junior PADI Open Water Courses
This age group is not able to join a larger group of older kids and adults. At this age safety dictates that we keep them in groups no larger than four divers and within that group only two divers can be 10 or 11.
The program itself uses the same eLearning materials as all our Open Water Courses and follow the same format. It is best that the kids complete the eLearning at home prior to the time with us. This way the parent can assist them if necessary.

Junior PADI Open Water Referral Course
Like our adult program, this 2 day private PADI Open Water Referral course requires that you complete the PADI eLearning studies and pool training prior to the start of the program in Tulum. The eLearning is a 10 hour program that you can purchase on padi.com or from your local area PADI dive center where you will complete the confined water/pool training.
At Tulum Diving Center the students will then join us for four open water training dives done over two days. Day one we will do two dives in one of the beautiful freshwater springs (cenotes) that the Yucatan is famous for. On day two we will do two dives on the Caribbean reefs offshore from Tulum.
Upon completion of the program you will be a PADI Open Water Certified diver.

If you feel your child will respond better to one on one training we will be happy to assist you. Contact us and we will work with you to set up a schedule that will work into your time here in Tulum.

Please be advised that there are occasionally times when the ocean conditions are unsafe to dive and the Port Authority will close the ports and not allow dive boats to go out. In those rare instances we will complete your dive training in the cenotes.
