Becoming a professional PADI Divemaster is easier than you think. The PADI Divemaster Course is the most sought after program of training in dive leadership available today. Here at Tulum Diving all our Divemaster Courses and Divemaster Internships are taught by our two, PADI Silver Course Directors, not less experienced Instructors, as is the case at most other facilities. We offer the basic Divemaster Course which meets all PADI Standards and Requirements to become a Divemaster and includes a free 7 day Internship if you have the time. We also have two additional Internship options available for you to work with our instructors and gain real world experience in being a dive professional. We even have a Divemaster/Assistant Instructor Combo program.

PADI Divemaster Course + optional 7 Day Internship
A ten day program that meets all requirements to become a PADI Divemaster. It is not necessary to spend weeks to become a professional. (additional 7 day internship available at no additional charge)
If you are a PADI Rescue Diver and have logged at least 40 dives, you can join our program and become a PADI Divemaster.
The course is designed to train qualified individuals as dive supervisors. Divemasters are in demand worldwide by diving resorts where they oversee general diving activities and serve as underwater guides. As the sport of diving gains popularity, the demand for the PADI Divemaster is rapidly expanding and with this increase, the value of Divemaster training is readily apparent.
The importance of the Divemaster program to the sport of diving cannot be overstated. The rating denotes an individual who has a high level of personal diving skill, has instructor level knowledge of diving theory, has had significant training in how to assist other divers, and is able to assume a role of responsibility for the welfare of other divers in his or her charge. Give us 10 days and we will change your life. Time permitting, upon completion of the DM course you will be welcome to join a 7 day internship with our instructors ot no additional charge. Divemaster Course Prerequisites:
- Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver
- 18 years old at start of course
- Logged 40 scuba dives by beginning of course and 60 dives by end of course and application to PADI for the Divemaster rating
- Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months of application to PADI
- Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months of application to PADI
Internship Options
Following is information on our two most popular Internship programs. We can also set up a custom Internship for you. Through our Internships you will get the opportunity to work with our Instructors to get more real world experience in assisting divers.
PADI Divemaster + 14 Day Internship
Include a 14 day internship working with our Course Directors and Instructors after you complete the 10 day Divemaster Course. (24 days total)
During the Internship you will work with our staff in supervising certified divers and teaching PADI dive courses. You will gain invaluable experience in being in charge of divers in real dive situations. This program begins with our 10 day Divemaster Course. It is then followed up with two weeks of interning with our staff to gain real world experience in supervising divers.
Additionally, during the Internship you will receive the PADI Deep Diving Specialty Certification and the PADI Search and Recovery Specialty Certification at no additional charge, if you do not already hold those ratings.

PADI Divemaster + 30 Day Career Development Internship
This is our ultimate Divemaster Career Development Program.
40 days total, this program includes the Divemaster course plus a great deal more that will make you a valuable asset to any dive operation you may work for in the future.
After the PADI Divemaster Course you will participate in a 30 day internship in which you will learn equipment maintenence and repairs, tank maintenence, dive supervision in both the ocean and the cenotes and retail management. You will work alongside our staff and instructors in all aspects of dive retail and resort operations.

Accommodation:
Our Courses do not include accommodation. We have found that people all desire a different level of accommodation. We can recommend accommodation arrangements for any level of comfort you may wish, from Hostel dormitory to a luxury beachfront suite, and everything in between.
PADI Divemaster/Assistant Instructor Application Fee:
Divemaster & Assistant Instructor Courses do not include PADI registration/application fee which is payable directly to PADI at time of certification.
