Cavern Diving

For the Adventure of a Lifetime, and a Lifetime of Adventure!
PADI Cavern Diving Specialty
  • Our most popular specialty course.

  • The Yucatan Peninsula hosts the largest flooded underground cave system in the world. The purpose of the Tulum Diving, PADI Cavern Diver Specialty Course is to familiarize you with the skills, knowledge, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of cavern diving. The Cavern Diver course is intended to provide a safe, supervised introduction to cave diving in natural overhead environments. However, although the course introduces students to the myriad skills, procedures and techniques that cavern diving has in common with cave diving, the Cavern Diver course is not intended to certify divers for Cave Diving. If you are considering Cave Dive training, this course is a perfect introduction to the caverns to see if it is for you as well as being a prerequisite to Full Cave Diver Course.

  • The goals of PADI Cavern Diver training are:
  • To develop your knowledge of the cavern environment.
  • To raise your awareness of the need for conservation and positive landowner relations.
  • To familiarize you with the major contributing causes of cave and cavern diving fatalities and how they form the basis of the safety rules around which this course and all subsequent cavern dives revolve.
  • To enable the student to plan and organize dives to safely explore caverns that fall within the stated limitations of Cavern Diver training and that offer conditions as good as the caverns in which the student was trained
  • To give you a chance to get a feel for whether or not the full cave training is for you.
The Cavern Diver Specialty Course requires two days in which you will do a minimum of four cavern dives. In the Cavern Diving Specialty Course you will use standard diving equipment, although with a few small modifications. This course is a prerequisite to the Full Cave Diver Certification. If you are planning on becoming a Full Cave Diver the next step after this program would be the PADI Sidemount Diver Course. Discover Cavern Diving Cenote Cavern Tours
Join us for a day of adventure exploring the Mayan Underworld. Cenotes are part of a unique underground river system that extends for thousands of miles under the Yucatan Peninsula. In this adventure we will do two dive tours in two different caverns. You will get the chance to begin exploring the caverns that lead to the submerged caves of the Yucatan. The caverns are the entrances to the caves where we still have ambient light from the cenote entrance. Venturing into the caves themselves requires more training and certification as a cave diver, but you will find these cavern dives to be spectacularly beautiful and enjoyable. We will do two dives in two different caverns. Cost: $170 US per diver Prerequisites: 15 years of age and must be Open Water Certified Includes: Dive equipment usageWet suit and dive lightCenotes entrance fee2 Cenote dives Refreshments Full Cave Certified Dive Guide Click below to submit payment for this program via PayPal.
